IMPORTANT INFORMATION
By registering for the conference you agree to the following terms:

a. Insurance
Registration fees do not include personal, travel or medical insurance of any kind. Delegates are advised when registering for the conference and booking travel that a travel insurance policy should be taken out to cover risks including (but not limited to) loss, cancellation, medical costs and injury. INTERSPEECH 2008 and/or the conference organisers will not accept any responsibility for any delegate failing to insure.

b. Cancellation policy
Cancellation of registration must be notified in writing. Cancellations received on or before 25 July 2008 will be refunded less a $165 administration fee. No refund of registration fees will be possible for cancellations notified after 25 July 2008. Substitutions however can be made. Please advise substitutions in writing at least 7 days in advance of the event so that a correct name badge can be available at the registration desk. Substitutions advised after this time will incur a fee of $55 per person. Authors of papers accepted for the program can only be substituted by a co author of the same paper. All accommodation reservation requests are subject to group booking conditions, including penalties for cancellations and non arrival. These penalties differ at the various hotels but typically if you cancel a reservation less than 30 days in advance of arrival, you may be charged one night's room rate. Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to arrival are likely to be charged a penalty equal to the full value of the original reservation. Similar penalties apply in the event you fail to arrive at the hotel.

c. Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. Your personal information will be used by INTERSPEECH 2008 in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act. In addition to the statements in the Privacy Act, personal information collected from the conference delegates will be shared with conference sponsors so that they may contact you directly. By submitting this form, you consent to us using and disclosing your personal information for this purpose. If you do not wish to have your details provided to these partners, please indicate your request for privacy on the registration form.

d. Payment
Full payment of registration fees and other costs must accompany this form. Your registration cannot be processed or acknowledged without full payment. A tax invoice will be sent by email to the delegate named on this form after your registration and payment have been processed.

All details listed here are subject to change without notice. For the latest details, please check this website regularly.

Visas and Quarantine
Travellers may require a visa or Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) to enter Australia. We strongly recommend that you apply for your visa not less than two (2) months prior to your intended travel date.

An Australian Government guide for intending visitors to Australia including important information about visa, Customs clearance, quarantine, health issues, communications equipment and other issues which impact on all visitors to Australia can be found on the Australian Government Immigration web site which can be accessed directly from the Visa and Quarantine link. A Letter of Invitation to the Conference may be required with your visa application. These letters will be provided to all international delegates after processing of registration forms and payments.

Australia has very strict quarantine rules and failure to observe quarantine requirements is treated severely by Australian authorities. You may be subject to examination by quarantine officers on your arrival in Australia. Please ensure that you comply with all quarantine rules and directives. Information on quarantine will be provided to you (typically by flight attendants on your inward flight) before you enter Australia. We recommend that you visit the Australian Government Quarantine Inspection Service web site which can be accessed directly from the Visa and Quarantine link.
